The Funicular Railway Technological Museum is located on the top of the Serra do Mar mountains in the state of São Paulo where the well-known village of Paranapiacaba is currently located. Initially the warehouses where this museum is located were workshops built to maintain the compositions that made the journey from Piassaguera Cubatão to Alto da Serra, the initial construction dates from 1867 built by the company SPR - São Paulo Railway on EFSJ - Santos Jundiaí Railway . Currently under concession from ABPF since 2005.

1983 End of commercial use of the second Funicular System, then a stretch of the fourth level from Serra Nova to Piassaguera was removed, and houses throughout the stretch were dismantled.
1986 At the initiative of PRESERFE (RFFSA Railway Preservation and Museum Museum) in partnership with the ABPF, it began the restoration for operation of the stretch from the fifth to the fourth level. The operation lasted from 1987 until 1991. The RFFSA which relieves drivers and fixed machine operators every weekend. The ABPF only monitored the train and museum.
1991 there was a budget cut for PRESERFE, which deactivated the tour. The ABPF, besides not being authorized to operate the funicular alone, could not afford the operation costs.
1996 MRS Logística was created by a mining consortium to operate SR3 (Central do Brasil) and SR4 (Santos a Jundiaí). RFFSA's 1.60 gauge mesh. Your grant is for cargo only. The passenger side is still open for the company you want to explore. If this occurs, MRS is required to have at least 2 hours a day for passenger trains, but it cannot operate them themselves (prohibited by contract).
2005 With the end of PRESERFE part of the liquidation and reallocation of RFFSA assets, PRESERFE sought the ABPF and passed the responsibility of the museum to it.
2008 With a lot of fighting, free volunteers, money raised at the box office, donations to ABPF can bring Maria Fumaça's tour to the Museum and Paranapiacaba
2012 Santo André City Hall tax incentive for MRS Logística company to restore the walkway that connects the museum to the upper and lower part of the village, total cost of about 1.600.000,00R $
2013 The Municipality of Santo André is awarded the amount of 42,400.00R $ from PAC - Growth Acceleration Program to restore the village, which is scheduled to start in January 2014, the railway museum is not included because it needs a project. isolated which is the responsibility of the ABPF.
