More than four thousand meters high, the reserve of vicuñas and flamencos Laguna Brava is a semi-cultured paradise high in the Riojana mountain range.

 Our traveler travels by hand to us since Vinchina's somnolent pueblo. We dodged the only path of the pueblo, and when crossing the puente on the Bermejo river we ended in the maze of curves of La Troya. The road is from the ground and it can be moved with the communes using a basket of seven kilometers of wide with huge mounds of rocky stone to the sides.

As we ascend, the color of the hair and the mountains is becoming increasingly intense. Due to the height, the solar radiation through a smaller portion of the atmosphere and the transparency of the environment allows to distinguish each stroke of the river landscape.

After a curve, on the side of the mountain appears the perfect form of La Pirámide. It is about an extra formation carved by the rain and the wind, without apparent explanation.

 The path leads us now until the High Jagüel, the last crossover that crosses before entering the mountain range. All that is the main thing - which in the summer turns into a true river by the water of the unhealthy ones - is a deep one between the ravines of the ground of a meter and a half of height, on which the great caserio appears. The houses are adobe with small puertas and hermetically closed wood blinds. At the end of the road, the wind throws a few dry branches and a pie of adobe chapel that seems to be about to dry.



   





It is located to the west of the province, covering part of the departments of Vinchina y Gral. Lamadrid, four hundred and fifty kilometers from the Riojana capital.

The name of Laguna Brava is what is the largest in the reserve, with a surface of seven kilometers wide by four ancho. In addition to the vicuñas and guanacos, Laguna Brava also protects several species of ducks, wheals, eagles, halcones, cougars and colored foxes.





At the heights of the Riojana mountain range, a zafiro blue lagoon surrounded by salt duplicates the inverted silhouettes of a hundred pink flames.

The birds, which work as guardians of silence, remain indifferent to the advancement of a vehicle through the hull bordering the lagoon.

In a frame of snowy ridges and gentle lakes, a helical wind shakes the pause of the vegetation, made up of some soft brown and soft hearts. We advanced without a harsh environment at the end of a very colorful, ready to dive in a mirror.

Laguna Brava is a nature reserve created in 1980 to preserve the vicuñas and guanacos communities that, as a result of the furtive chase, were on the verge of disappearance. The reserve has an extension of four thousand five hundred kilometers and encompasses also a series of smaller lagoons, formed in a temporal manner as a result of the losses.
