This picturesque half-timbered house in the Westerwald region was built in 1753 and became renowned in the year of 1818 as the birthplace of F.W. Raiffeisen. The well-restored architecture in the interior of the house offers a unique atmosphere.
The rooms, which combine tradition and comfort, invite to day-dream. Inspired by his French education, chef Markus Wortelkamp serves excellent cuisine with only the freshest products from the region. The "Romantik Hotel Alte Vogtei" is located directly behind the church in the picturesque village of Hamm, which is beautifully embedded between the Sieg and the Kroppacher Switzerland, on the edge of the Westerwald Forest.
The Westerwald with its green hills and far views, lively brooks, long valleys and lowlands is one of the most varied landscapes in Germany. Hiking paths will guide you alongside the rivers to the medieval old town, to lakes or to old monasteries.
