The town of Stamford is situated 100 miles north of London, just off the A1, which was the old Great North Road leading to York and Edinburgh. Frozen in time thanks to its conservation status, this once major wool town has been perfectly preserved and still retains much of its old world charm and prosperity. Many of the buildings are constructed from old Lincolnshire limestone, hence the town’s distinguished appearance and its popularity with tourists and movie directors alike. The bar offers spacious seating areas and is perhaps the most traditional part of the pub. The hotel prides itself on its beer, and has 3 of its own, which have a constant presence in their portfolio. On top of this there are 2 ever-changing guest beers, sourced locally as much as possible.
